Historic Resources Group worked with the Los Angeles Community Design Center to create this award-winning project, which utilized both low-income and historic preservation investment tax credits. HRG prepared the Historic Preservation Certification Application and the National Register nomination, and guided the project team through such complex issues as seismic retrofit to find solutions that met the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation. This project was selected for inclusion in the National Park Service publication entitled “Affordable Housing through Historic Preservation” on meeting the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation in affordable housing projects. Principal Christy Johnson McAvoy prepared the case study for publication.
