DAVIS BUILDING

6679-89 Hollywood Blvd.

(F. L. Paulson, architect; 1914)

This brink commercial block is one of the oldest in the historic district. It was built prior to World War I, just four years after Hollywood became part of the City of Los Angeles.

MUSSO AND FRANK GRILL

6663-67 Hollywood Blvd.

(Architect unknown; 1919)

The oldest continuing restaurant in Hollywood, Musso and Frank was the dining spot of choice for novelists and screenwriters of the Golden Era. The original restaurant was just east of the current establishment, which has been in this location since 1937.

SHANE BUILDING

6652-54 Hollywood Blvd.

(S. Norton and F. Wallis, architects; 1930)

Take a short detour down the side street to see the Art Deco lobby of this four-story office building. One of the Boulevard's most popular styles, Art Deco was considered the most sophisticated statement of the 1920s and '30s -- and was widely used in design from signage to clothes to architecture.
