1920s Marquee

Over the years, the historic character of the Egyptian Theatre eroded as it underwent changes in management, ownership, and use.  In the late 1920s, the box office was moved to the sidewalk and a marquee installed across the entrance to the forecourt.  In the 1930s, the storefronts within the forecourt were closed and the space was converted to open off the sidewalk for use by a single tenant.
